GFBA food banks share food, resources and best practices to help close the meal gap and ensure a hunger-free Georgia.  Our eight member food banks work with nearly 2,400 distribution agencies, including congregations to distribute food to seniors, families and children in 159 counties statewide.

  • America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, founded in 1981, currently distributes over 12 million pounds of food and grocery product in twenty-one counties in southeastern Georgia.
  • Atlanta Community Food Bank, founded in 1979, currently distributes over 60 million pounds of food and other donated grocery items and school supplies each year in 29 counties in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.  Georgia Mountain Food Bank is a distribution partner of ACFB.
  • Chattanooga Area Food Bank (Food Bank of Northwest Georgia), currently distributes over 12 million pounds of food and grocery product annually through over 300 partner agencies in 20 counties (4.9 million pounds to 9 counties in GA).
  • Feeding the Valley, founded in 1982, currently distributes 7.1  million pounds of food and grocery product annually in thirteen counties in southwestern Georgia.
  • Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, founded in 1981, currently distributes 10.7 million pounds of food and grocery product annually in fourteen counties in northeastern Georgia.
  • Golden Harvest, founded in 1982, currently distributes over 9.4 million pounds of food and grocery product annually in eighteen counties in eastern Georgia.
  • Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, founded in 1981, currently distributes 6.8million pounds of food and grocery product annually in twenty-four counties in central Georgia.
  • Second Harvest of South Georgia, founded in 1981, currently distributes over 19.7 million pounds of food and grocery product annually in thirty counties in southern Georgia
