4th Annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight | August 7 – 18, 2017 | 

Thank you and congratulations to Georgia’s accounting community! This year over 65 accounting firms and industry accounting departments in 21 cities competed in the Food Fight, raising a total of 11,286 pounds of food and $135,485 for Georgia’s food banks, a 25% increase over last year!

  • Cherry Bekaert was runner up in this region for local total points in the region with 34,050 TP.
  • Myers and Stauffer was runner up in this region for local points per employee at 456.8

America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia (Savannah / Coastal Georgia)

  • The Hancock Askew & Company, LLP raised the most local total points with 13,335 TP
  • Caines, Hodges & Company P.C. raised the most total points per employee with 437.5 PPE

Feeding the Valley Food Bank (Columbus / South West Georgia)

Food Bank of Northeast Georgia (Athens / Northeast Georgia)

Georgia Mountain Food Bank (Gainesville Area)

  • The Rushton raised the most of local total points with 2,549 TP and points per employee at 63.7 PPE in this region.  

Golden Harvest Food Bank (Augusta / East Central Georgia)

  • The Anderson, Adkins & Company was runner up in this region for local total points at 7,609 TP and local points per employee at 422.7 PPE

Middle Georgia Community Food Bank (Macon / Middle Georgia)

  • The TJS Deemer Dana LLP raised the most pounds per employee in this region at 264.2 PPE.
  • McNair, McLemore, Middlebrooks & Co.,LLC the most local total points in this region with 9,248 TP

Second Harvest of South Georgia (Valdosta / South Georgia)

  • The Henderson & Godbee, LLP raised the most in the region for  local total points with 6,528 TP and local points per employee at 225.1 PPE.

The Georgia Society of CPAs and Georgia’s Accounting community are using their one voice to create a friendly food and fund drive competition among Georgia accounting professionals to support the Georgia Food Bank Association and the Food Banks across the state. For two weeks only (August 7 – August 18), accounting firms and industry accounting departments in all parts of Georgia will compete to raise the most food and funds for their regional Food Bank. Everything you raise will stay local, but the glory will be statewide! Who will be the fiercest food fighter this year?

GOAL

 75 Firms & Industry Accounting Departments raising $120,000 and 15,000 pounds of food for Georgia’s Food Banks!

KEY DATES

June 1 – August 18: Registration OPEN!

July 24: Sign – Up by this Date for 100 Bonus Points!

August 7 – 18: Accounting Food Fight – Only food & funds raised during this time count towards your totals!

August 25: Final day for competitors to submit donations to their food banks.

HOW IT WORKS 

For every dollar raised during the competition, a team earns 4 points ($1=4 Points). For every pound of food raised, a team earns 1 point (1 Pound = 1 Point), with various opportunities for bonus points. Awards are also given based on points per employee, so any size firm or company can be competitive! Everything each firm or company raises stays LOCAL and benefits the regional Food Bank that serves their community. Once you get registered, you will be connected with your Food Bank and given specific donation instructions and helpful tips!

AWARDS 

After the competition and all the donations are turned in, each firm’s points are tallied and we determine the statewide Grand Prize Winners – the “Food Fight Hero” – the firm or company with the most points per employee” and the “Hunger Champion” – the firm or company with the most total points overall. There are also awards given in different size categories.
