The Georgia Society of CPAs and Georgia’s Accounting community are using their one voice to create a friendly food and fund drive competition among Georgia accounting professionals to support the Georgia Food Bank Association and the Food Banks across the state. For two weeks only (August 7 – August 18), accounting firms and industry accounting departments in all parts of Georgia will compete to raise the most food and funds for their regional Food Bank. Everything you raise will stay local, but the glory will be statewide! Who will be the fiercest food fighter this year?
75 Firms & Industry Accounting Departments raising $120,000 and 15,000 pounds of food for Georgia’s Food Banks!
June 1 – August 18: Registration OPEN!
July 24: Sign – Up by this Date for 100 Bonus Points!
August 7 – 18: Accounting Food Fight – Only food & funds raised during this time count towards your totals!
August 25: Final day for competitors to submit donations to their food banks.
HOW IT WORKS
For every dollar raised during the competition, a team earns 4 points ($1=4 Points). For every pound of food raised, a team earns 1 point (1 Pound = 1 Point), with various opportunities for bonus points. Awards are also given based on points per employee, so any size firm or company can be competitive! Everything each firm or company raises stays LOCAL and benefits the regional Food Bank that serves their community. Once you get registered, you will be connected with your Food Bank and given specific donation instructions and helpful tips!
After the competition and all the donations are turned in, each firm’s points are tallied and we determine the statewide Grand Prize Winners – the “Food Fight Hero” – the firm or company with the most points per employee” and the “Hunger Champion” – the firm or company with the most total points overall. There are also awards given in different size categories.
