About the Wild Hog Supper

The Wild Hog Supper is a cherished tradition that has kicked off Georgia’s legislative session for more than six decades, bringing together the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, state legislators, lobbyists, and community leaders. Established in 1962, this annual event celebrates Georgia’s agriculture industry—the state’s #1 economic driver—and highlights the importance of community collaboration in fighting hunger.

Conceived initially as a small gathering over BBQ in the swamps of south-central Georgia, the Wild Hog Supper has grown into a large, highly anticipated event. Today, it draws over 1,000 attendees to the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta. Attendees enjoy traditional Southern fare, in a festive atmosphere that marks the official start of the Georgia General Assembly’s legislative session.

Since 2012, the event has been hosted by Feeding Georgia, a network of seven regional food banks, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. This partnership reflects the strong connection between Georgia’s agricultural community and the food banks, which distribute fresh produce to families in need through the Feeding Georgia Farm to Food Bank program. Last year alone, Georgia farmers donated over 32 million pounds of fresh, nutritious produce—much of it imperfect in appearance but perfect in quality—to food banks across the state.

The 2025 Wild Hog Supper will continue this tradition, with a host committee led by Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper, along with the House and Senate Agriculture Committees Chaired by Representative Robert Dickey and Senator Russ Goodman. The event provides a unique opportunity for networking among state legislators, local officials, community organizations, and citizens.

As a ticketed event open to the public, the proceeds from the Wild Hog Supper benefit the Feeding Georgia Farm to Food Bank program, supporting efforts to reduce food insecurity across the state.

Join us for a night of great food, meaningful connections, and celebration of Georgia’s agricultural heritage—all while helping to fight hunger and strengthen our communities.
