Georgia’s food banks have been responding to a 40% increase in demand for food assistance since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. You can help.

Join the Georgia Accounting Food Fight | August 10 – 21, 2020

The Georgia Society of CPAs and Georgia’s accounting community are using their one voice to create a virtual fundraising competition among Georgia accounting professionals to support Georgia’s eight regional food banks. For each dollar donated, Georgia’s food banks can provide four meals to kids, seniors, and families in need. Compete during August 10 – 21, 2020 to help the regional food bank that serves your community!

This year, the Food Fight is going fully virtual. Even though your team is unable to volunteer at the food bank, host in-person fundraising events, or operate food drives in your office, you can still make a HUGE impact through online fundraising.

Here are the main changes with this year’s all-virtual competition:

  • No food donations – scoring will ONLY include points for $ donated and not for pounds donated
  • No volunteering bonus point opportunity – not all food banks are accepting volunteers right now from the general public as they have the National Guard assisting with operations
  • Checks/Cash/ACH payments will still be accepted. Offline donations will need to be mailed to your local food bank at the end of the competition

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  • Accounting firms and industry accounting departments can sign-up by clicking the “Register Here!” button at the top of this page.
  • Firms/companies registered by August 1 earn 100 bonus points!
  • The “champion” listed should be the designated contact person at your firm/company. They will receive all competition-related communications and it is up to that person to share the information with their colleagues.
  • List your firm/company name as you would like it listed on materials.
  • When you register, include the total number of employees in your firm/company. If you are a participating industry accounting department, you should only count the number of employees in the department, not the entire firm/company.
  • Firms/companies with multiple office locations in Georgia should sign up individually so that we can connect them with the correct food bank. They should only list the number of employees in their specific office. At the end of the competition, the totals from all of the offices will be aggregated and the firm/company will compete as a single entity for the awards.
